How long it takes to learn how to draw characters

People always ask me how long it takes to become a good comic. How long does learn how drawing of the characters for illustrations or other projects?

But what they don't realize that learning how to draw depends much more on the desire to learn that in some talent born. You could be the next Stan Lee, but if not the practice and study, as in any other profession is more likely that you will never develop the skills necessary to be competent.
